Summary
Designed for the sleepover events at the American Museum of Natural History, The League Of Naturalists follows the story of a society of young naturalists organized by Theodore Roosevelt. In order to gain access to this prestigious organization, kids must explore the museum and complete challenges to gain access to the secret headquarters of The League of Naturalists, and meet with Teddy Roosevelt himself!
Gameplay
The league of Naturalists was a game designed to be played during the American Museum of Natural History children’s sleepover events. A guest would begin by visiting the League of Naturalists table in the museum, where they receive a challenge log.
The challenge log has two sets of “challenges” that require guests to go in different galleries in the museum and to find the animals that are lurking within them. When they find each animal, they must read it’s plaque to find the answer and learn something about that particular animal. They then fill in the answer on their challenge log and continue to find the next animal.
Each answer of the challenge log has a highlighted letter. When those highlighted letters are put together, they form the password to the League of Explorers headquarters, a secret room that’s normally off-limits to visitors.
When a guest tells the person guarding the room the secret password, they are admitted into the room, where they are greeted by Theodore Roosevelt, who will congratulate each child on becoming a member of the League of Naturalists!
